Christine Chandler, LPC
Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
I am a LPC in the state of Texas with over 20 years of experience working to help populations of all kinds improve their mental health and become the best version of themselves in a safe & trusting environment.
Christine Chandler is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience. Christine has a MS in Counseling from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi and a BA in Psychology from Schreiner University (Kerrville, TX). During Christine’s career, she has worked with individuals with severe mental illness in psychiatric hospitals as well as individuals recovering from various traumas. Christine has worked with individuals and their families at all ages and all stages of their lives.
Christine believes to help each client find their truth starts with letting the client share their story without any judgement. Christine understands that the client is the expert in their own life but sometimes they need help when unwanted thoughts, symptoms or behaviors start. Reaching out for help can be difficult for all kinds of reasons. She wants to remind you “we don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to” (Brené Brown). Christine puts the needs of the client first, and together they will figure out what therapeutic style will best work for the symptoms or issues that the client is wanting to work on.
Christine realizes the world has changed and anxieties have increased. She wants to help the young adults work on themselves to become the best versions of themselves. Loneliness, social anxiety, and just being in a constantly changing world can make anyone feel out of control. Christine wants to help give you back that feeling of being in control of your life.
Christine uses different modalities (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Grief Therapy, and Holistic Therapy) as part of the process of helping the client find their truth and strengths as they work through the reasons they have come to counseling. Christine hopes to offer new ideas to clients experiencing anxiety and depression. Christine specializes in grief, trauma, chronic health conditions (diabetes), and chronic autoimmune diseases (fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic migraines, etc.).
Christine makes sure that she takes time for self-care. Taking the time for self-care and mindfulness is a process she is enjoying as she learns about being creative (drawing, coloring) and exploring nature. Christine tries to use what she is learning about her journey for taking time for self-care to her clients since so many are not taking the time for themselves. Brené Brown states “it takes courage to say yes to rest and play, in a culture where exhaustion is seen as a status symbol”. Helping clients with mindfulness, self-care and learning stress management is something Christine emphasizes with her clients.
Christine wants clients to find their strengths in a non-judgmental environment where they can share their story any way they need to. She is ready to listen and help walk your journey with you.
