About me

I am a licensed Professional Counselor in NJ, utilizing integrative mental healthcare which honors each client as an individual. The majority of my practice focuses on individuals working through anxiety, depression, and traumatic life events. I work with young adult and adult clients, often with women and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. In addition to my work with individuals, I also have experience, and very much enjoy, supporting couples in their relationships.

Thank you for taking the time to browse my profile! My name is Christina, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey. I work to create a warm and inviting (even when sometimes challenging) environment for my clients, and am always honored that I get to be part of so many stories and lives. My clinical areas of focus include helping clients with anxiety and depression, as well as coping with traumatic life events and PTSD, with a focus on working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and couples. My personal journey has led me to counseling from a variety of places, including a bachelors degree in music performance, working in the legal profession, and many years working in health and fitness. I am an avid yoga practitioner as well as yoga teacher, and work to bring a perspective to my counseling work that draws on my diverse career background and awareness that not everyone's path to their most fulfilling life, is a straight line. For most of us, it is more meandering than directed, and that brings with it its own power!

In my work with clients, I utilize an integrative, holistic approach. That's a fancy way of saying I use more than one school of thought of therapy (not just CBT, DBT, psychoanalytic, etc), and it means I don't just focus on one single area of your life (I want to know how your sleep is, social life, how's work going, etc,). I find that more often than not, our lives are a complex weaving and connection of so many different facets of ourselves, and taking the time to really explore these things for yourself adds so much benefit and clarity. Having dealt with my own mental health challenges in the past, I bring a 'no shame required' approach to all of my work, and utilize my professional and personal understanding of mental health to help you find the life you're looking to lead.

Outside of my counseling work, you can catch me taking or teaching a yoga class, getting outside to hike with my dogs, trying (and often no succeeding so well) at art projects, and trying to find joy in the simple things that life presents us with on a daily basis.
