About me
I am a mental health counselor who has been practicing since 2009. I have experience providing counseling services for adolescents, adults, & couples. My education is in marriage & family therapy. I utilize a cognitive-behavioral therapy approach to therapy, as well as a systemic approach, focusing not only on the individual, but on their relationships and family involvement as well. I allow the client to take direction in their sessions. I have completed Level 1 and Level 2 training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy. I also have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which can be used for not only trauma, but anxiety, depression, grief, and more. I work with adults in the areas of anxiety, depression, adjustment issues, trauma, relationships, and premarital support and counseling. I also work with individuals who may not have mental health concerns but are just looking to improve their overall life satisfaction.
My clients tend to see me as a nurturing, caring, supportive therapist, while mixing in humor too. My clients feel safe in a nonjudgmental space. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending my time with my husband and two cats, as well as golfing, baking, reading, and traveling!
