I specialize in helping individuals of all ages with OCD, anxiety, trauma, addiction, and body-focused repetitive behaviors.
I am a clinically trained Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in psychotherapy with adolescents and adults. I have experience treating individuals with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorders, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Depressive Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, trauma, hoarding, skin picking/hair pulling disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and specific phobias. Additionally, I helps individuals through life transitions and in managing life stress.
I use an integrated approach in therapy, weaving techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy into evidenced based approaches specific to each person's needs. These more specialized approaches include Exposure and Response Prevention, Motivational Interviewing, Habit Reversal Training, Behavioral Activation, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Mindfulness. I am passionate about providing the most effective treatments to my clients and actively seeks out ways to expand my skills as a therapist.
Originally from Birmingham, AL, I graduated from The University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor's degree in psychology. I then earned a Master's degree from Indiana University in Counseling and Counseling Education. I have over 9 years of experience in the mental health field and have worked in a variety of settings including: inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, in-home, and residential. During the Covid 19 Pandemic, I realized that telehealth provided much greater access to specialized mental health services and decided to transition to a 100% online practice.
