Charles King, LMFT
Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
Do you feel like a stranger in a strange land? Let me help you learn about yourself, in order to improve your relationship with yourself and others.
I call myself a geek therapist, and am in fact working towards specific training and certification to become one formally. I believe that the characters we love from media, such as movies, books, and tabletop role-playing games, resonate with us because we identify with them. I have spent about 8 years of my life working in movie theaters, 12 years in the US Navy, and have been practicing as a therapist since 2017. I have worked most of my time at the inpatient setting, helping those in crisis.
I started on this journey with the initial goal of becoming a chaplain for the military. I earned the necessary degree and have learned to incorporate what I have learned into my therapeutic approach. I believe that our spiritual self is as important as our mental and physical selves.
