About me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor with a background in Holistic and Buddhist psychology. I’ve worked in the mental health field serving youth and families for over 15 years in a variety of settings.
My goal is to help people find answers, develop skills and create movement when they are feeling stuck. I believe everyone is unique so I like to work together to discover which modality is most useful. I mainly utilize evidenced based practices including solution focused techniques, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, CBT/DBT, expressive arts, and humanistic approaches.
I think it’s important to look at the whole picture in order to fully support those who I am serving. It’s like the analogy; “It’s hard to see the picture when we ARE the picture”. I believe this is why seeing a therapist can be so helpful for everyone. It’s nice to have an unbiased, compassionate, non judgmental person to help process whatever feelings or thoughts they may be having. In my opinion, the client is the boss and I am here to serve in the best way that I can. I have a passion for instilling hope in others and I love helping people find the light when the world is feeling dark. I want to do whatever I can to help, whether that be actively listening, processing feelings, giving advice, helping with school/job searching, or connecting with resources. I look forward to working together and seeing how I can best be of service :)
