About me
I am an experienced mental health practitioner with lots of life experience, who is dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families cope with challenging life situations and explore their intimate, familial, and social relationships.
Are you feeling burned out of life and concerned about a friend or family member’s substance use or mental health condition or feeling challenged in your relationships with friends and family? These can be heavy burdens to carry on your own. I have been where you are, and I understand at a deep level how emotionally taxing they can be. The good news? You can gain better control and improve your quality of life. Coming to therapy is a very courageous decision, because you are not only putting your self care front and center, you are making yourself a priority. Therapy is not always rainbows & butterflies, but it is a caring and supportive process that prioritizes you. I utilize a person-centered, empathic, and collaborative approach that helps you explore your stressors, develop better coping, and find solutions that minimize emotional suffering. For therapy to be effective, it's important that you feel respected throughout the process.
I have worked in large healthcare systems, community mental health, and private practice with ages 9 to 100 from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. I am a proud provider of our healthcare workers, older adult population age 55+, and Veterans and their families.
A little about me - I am a native Californian (sixth generation San Franciscan), and have lived in the East Bay for the last 35+ years. I serve on the Alameda Co. Psychological Association, providing self-care support and resources to colleagues. As you can see, self care is a passion of mine, because it is critical for our physical, emotional, and spiritual health, and there are many creative ways that it can be practiced.
I invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation. At that time, we will discuss what is bringing you to therapy & see if we’re a good fit. I offer flexible scheduling, a few sliding scale options if cost is a consideration, and a superbill if needed. If you think it’s a good fit between us, I encourage you to reach out. I look forward to speaking with you.
