About me
Difficult life experiences can take away our sense of safety and make us feel detached from the world and others. Examples of these events include involvement with the foster care system, family separation, chronic illnesses, military deployments and readjustment, and sexual trauma/military sexual trauma. I have experience helping individuals and families process these traumatic events to assist them in reducing the negative effects the symptoms of trauma can have on survivors and the people that they love.
Sometimes, even after we take the major step of improving our mental health and self-care by seeking out support, there is still the fear that we may not be heard or understood. I have learned there is not a one-size- fits-all approach to therapy. I recognize you are the expert on your life!
Some of you may know how you want to feel, and if you don’t, I will assist you in getting there, by creating an environment of self-exploration, self-awareness, and identification. Together, we will use current evidence-based practices and trauma-informed approaches to create a road map that will allow you to develop better communication and coping skills.
