About me
Brittany is certified in Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She has expertise in trauma therapy to treat individuals suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She has had experience supervising bachelors level, master level interns, marriage and family therapists, professional counselors, and social workers. As a family therapist, Brittany specializes in providing systemic psychotherapy and treating all aspects of clients’ lives. Being an integrative part of clients’ progression towards living a more fulfilling life is one of the core values at The Hardy Clinic.
Brittany is a Georgia native. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia but grew up forty-five minutes west in Carrollton, Georgia. Despite her countryside upbringing, she is a city girl at heart. She has lived in Georgia for most of her life but she is well-traveled. She lived aboard in Beijing, China back in 2012 and traveled to over 20 countries. She loves exploring the world and learning how life is for others. Brittany realized during her travels that most cultures share many similarities. Most people want to be happy, feel loved, and celebrate life. Some people just need guidance along their journey to maintain peace of mind and hopefulness. Brittany became a therapist to help others become the best version of themselves, by focusing on their strengths while acknowledging areas of growth. Brittany attended Georgia Southern University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Child and Family Development. She earned a Masters of Family Therapy degree at Mercer University’s School of Medicine. She is a licensed psychotherapist with over 10 years of experience. Brittany served as Director of Clinical Services at a psychiatric hospital, for several years. She received training as a STAR Behavioral Health Provider and certified to provide therapy to veterans, active service members, and their families.
