About me

I am a Licensed Master of Social Work and I practice as a generalist. I have experience in grief counseling, death/dying and aging issues, adolescent/teen issues, transgender issues, trauma, depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-harming behaviors, and a number of other issues. My goal is to create a safe environment where clients feel heard and are able to create realistic plans to improve quality of life and find meaning and purpose.

I am a graduate of New Mexico Highlands University with a Masters in Social Work. I also have a BA in Psychology and a BA in Philosophy from the University of New Mexico. I spent three years volunteering for hospice, and I did two internships in my graduate program. My first internship was working with intellectually and developmentally disabled adults with behavioral plans. My second internship was at the Office of the Medical Investigator where I did grief counseling for individuals who had lost their loved ones in traumatic and unexpected ways. I currently work for Family Workshop Counseling Center as a general Therapist, working with individuals ages 12+ for a number of issues. I incorporate CBT, art therapy, grief counseling, empathic listening, DBT, and strengths-based approaches in the majority of my work. Additionally, I work for North 4th Arts Center as the Dance Director for Buen Viaje Dance Company, a company for mixed-ability/disabled adults. I also will be serving as the therapist in a therapeutic arts class at the same center. My hope is to bring meaning, hope, and self-worth to individuals struggling with many mental health conditions and concerns.
