About me

Hi, I'm Brenda Kyger-Skidgel. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Tele Mental Health Provider who works with teens, adults and couples who have ongoing challenges with depression, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, and trouble communicating in their relationships. My goal is to help you stop feeling overwhelmed and depressed and start encouraging you to see healing and transformation are possible.

Our Sessions Are Focused On You - Sessions will provide you with the space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals. In feeling safe and comfortable, you'll be able to figure things out about yourself. It's important to me to provide a non-judgmental space where you can be yourself and focus on setting goals and working on reaching them together. There isn't a "one size fits all" approach to therapy. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Marketing at California State-Long Beach. Afterwards, I also received my Masters of Education in School Counseling and Professional Counseling at Lamar University. I hold a license in counseling as an LPC for the state of Texas. Additionally, I hold a Board Certified Tele Mental Health Provider certificate and Grief Counseling Certificate. I have extensive training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mental Health First Aid, Why Try Resilience, Suicide Prevention, and BIPP (Behavior Intervention Prevention Program).
