About me

I am a Certified EMDR Trauma Therapist dedicated to helping people recover from a host of disorder to include depression, anxiety, PTSD to name a few. I have over 20 years of experience and I practice from a Holistic and trauma informed perspective.

I envision therapy as a journey and I am like your guide. I believe that everyone is on a path, and I assist with making sure that you are on the best path that you want to be travelling on in life. We have all experienced negative life events and past trauma. We will work together to identify this and work through your past. I work from a warm, supportive and caring perspective and meet each individual where they are at on their journey.

I have noted that many patients have built up various walls, facades, masks or mental blocks in response to negative life events or traumas that have prevented them from living their best lives or experiencing life how they want to. Trauma Focused Therapy can allow patients to make positive changes and gain new insights or understanding. This is very much like processing the various threads that can be woven into the tapestry that is symbolic and representative of our lives. Change is possible.

Therapeutic Approach
My approach is Trauma Focused and Holistic in nature. I am an Approved Consultant and former training facilitator with EMDR, which is a trauma focused form of therapy that is very effective with resolving past traumas and also at a physiological level where traumas are stored and most often experienced. This leads naturally into Somatic based therapy. Many patients can benefit from Attachment Repair using EMDR protocols to restore balance in self identity and interpersonal relationships. I work to incorporate positive energy work, meditation, guided imagery, and Mindfulness into our work as well as establishing better boundaries and overall balance. Somatic processing can also be incorporated for better overall functioning and alignment. As many past traumas have a mind-body connection, this is often a focus of treatment and integration. Every patient is treated on an individual basis to ensure that they are on their best path in life.

I also offer Psychedelic Integration Therapy and integration of one’s Psychedelic experiences to promote deeper understanding and overall positive change.

Biography
I am licensed in both Pennsylvania and Virginia and I have been practicing since 1998. I have always been drawn to the Holistic area of therapy and the need for balance in life, and also being able to integrate our experiences into our lives. Therefore, I have always embraced a focus on health for optimal well being. The most common thing that I've seen in my practice is that our past and current experiences can make us feel stuck, overwhelmed, and defeated. This can lead to a variety of problems to include depression, anxiety, stress, relationship problems, addictions, trauma/abuse and PTSD. My goal as your therapist is to create a collaborative and safe environment where we work together to meet your goals. You don't have to figure everything out on your own. I love to see my patients heal and recover and my goal is to make you as comfortable as possible in therapy. I work from a Trauma informed and Holistic perspective to meet your needs. I try to achieve balance and restore emotional freedom, joy, peace, and happiness in my patient’s lives. We work together to define who you are today and where you want to go tomorrow, moving beyond your past. I will be like your guide, making sure that you get where you want to go. I believe that we are all important and can overcome our problems. We can find happiness, joy, and achieve emotional freedom. We can redefine who we are today despite our past.

I am an avid gardener and cultivate organic vegetables. I grow herbs for cooking and also naturopathic healing for salves and home made soaps. I enjoy hiking, travelling, photography and the great outdoors. I love spending time with my family and the joy of living simply. I also love coffee! I feel blessed to assist others to do the same with the work that I do. If you have any questions about the work that I do or about your specific problems or needs, please contact me. I would be happy to connect.
