About me
Experienced individual and couples therapist who is dedicated to helping others live their best lives.
"We see the world, not as it is, but as we are,” Stephen Covery. Bowen believes that everyone has an innate ability to move towards growth, healing, and fulfillment. He views the therapeutic relationship as a collaboration that honors each person’s experiences, stories, and identities. Bowen approaches therapy from a perspective of continuous learning and believes that the more we learn about ourselves, the better able we are to make choices about how we want to move through life.
Bowen uses an integrative framework to address each client’s individual needs. He primarily utilizes interventions from Existential, Attachment Theory, CBT, ACT, the Gottman Method, and Humanistic therapeutic orientations through a trauma informed, queer theory, and antiracist lens. He has experience treating a range of concerns including couples therapy, depression, anxiety, ADHD, autism, bipolar disorder, gender dysphoria, relationship issues, trauma and grief.
Bowen began his career as a clinical therapist at CCW working primarily with fellow members of the LGBTQ+ community. He also serves as faculty in The Ohio State University’s Counselor Education Program teaching Wellness and Prevention, Career Counseling, and Lifespan Development. Bowen lives with his husband, Tyler, in Westerville, OH.
