About me
"Experience a Stable Relationship" in my "office" that is a 5 acre pasture with a herd of 13 equines. I am a Licensed Psychologist trained and certified through Natural Lifemanship to offer Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TF-EAP).
My clients call me Dr Bev. As a Psychologist, that means I'm a "talk doctor, not a shot doctor". In 2009, I traded my inside office for a pasture where I partner with a herd of amazing equines (horses, donkeys, ponies, and miniatures) to offer Trauma-Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (TF-EAP). The work we do is a "grounded experience", so no need for horsemanship skills since our feet will stay on the ground.
Over the years, I have found that traditional talk therapy can sometimes mask core issues since our brains are so adaptive at protecting ourselves with strong coping strategies such as deflection, rationalization, reactivity, and defensiveness. Equines tap into our inner selves to help us gain insight to our attachment, communication, and emotional regulation styles.
If talking about your challenges and relationships hasn't help, if you prefer to move and be outside, if you struggle to manage your feelings;
come Experience a Stable Relationship at Brookside Ranch. My practice is located just south of Houston in the small community of Brookside Village (Pearland), off 288 and Beltway 8 south.
