Bethany Walker, LMSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I am a therapist dedicated to empowering all families, parents, caregivers, adolescents, and children.
Relationships can be hard- especially when you're a parent. Between balancing your roles, meeting your children's needs, and trying to find space for yourself in between it's easy to feel like you can't keep up. As a mom to a firecracker toddler myself, I want you to know you aren't alone. If you're stressed out and feeling lost on how to tackle your parenting or relationship issues, I may be able to help.
I offer a relational approach to therapy that allows you space to process, gives you tools and skills to move forward, and focuses on using your strengths to move forward into your most beautiful life. I specialize in parenting and relationships, be it co-parenting issues, behavioral problems with your children, family stressors, or just trying to balance your life.
I received my undergraduate degree in Social Work from Abilene Christian University and Masters of Social Work from Boise State University. I am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Community Counseling with a focus on Traumatology. I have 8 years of experience in social work with families, adolescents, and children in a variety of settings including schools, nonprofits, community centers, medical facilities, and private practice.
In addition to my therapy services, I offer CANS assessments and continuing education around mental health issues, relationship issues, parenting, and trauma. I work with several organizations ghostwriting, developing social emotional learning curriculum, and am publishing a children’s book on childhood trauma and resiliency, Lena & the Dragon. I currently run a blog called “Picture Book Therapy Thursday” where I interview authors of picture books that parents, teachers, or others could use to discuss tough topics with their children.
In my free time, I love spending quality time with my husband and daughter, curling up with a good book in my giant reading chair, or watching horror movies.
You are the expert on your own story, and your family. My role is to help you find extra tools, time, and emotional capacity to move forward in your life and build up your children, your family, and your relationships even stronger.
