I am a West Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor who dedicated to to helping people overcome barriers, reach an optimal level of wellness and achieve goals!
Hello and thank you for visiting my page! I am a West Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor, National Board Certified Counselor, National Board Certified Tele-Mental Health provider, hold certification in Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialists and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from West Virginia State University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marshall University.
I have experience in Community Mental Health, with Addictions population, and helped those struggling with Co-Occurring disorders. More recent years I have worked with children, adolescents, adults and families to help manage ADHD, ODD, OCD, social-emotional adjustment difficulties, relational problems, and behavioral disorders through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy model with the use of eclectic/Holistic techniques to help fit individual needs of each patient she treats.
I created Inspiring Horizons Counseling & Wellness, LLC to help those within the Kanawha Valley and surrounding areas to help support them to reaching their goals, addressing their mental health concerns, and illuminate their inner strengths while enhancing their journey of life! Inspiring Horizons provides individualized and family-oriented counseling to children, teens, and adults. Inspiring Horizons seeks to promote an open Holistic approach to treating mental health concerns that best address the needs of patients to help them achieve an optimal level of wellness. Evidence-based approaches are utilized to help people overcome barriers with strong influence from, but not limited to: Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Therapy, Rogerian, and Reality Therapy.
Services Offered: We treat adults with a variety of issues: mood issues, stress, relationship difficulties, anxiety, phobias, depression, PTSD, professional performance, problem drinking, parental support, dating difficulties, gender identity disorders, infertility issues among other problem areas.
We treat children & teens with a variety of issues: self-esteem issues, substance abuse, self-injury, dealing with parental divorce, family conflict, aggression, school stress or refusal, anxiety, depression, social anxiety, defiance behaviors, gender dysphoria, behavioral disorders, as well as other areas of concern.
