About me
I am a multilingual and culturally sensitive psychotherapist who is dedicated to working with individuals dealing with identity crises, as well as difficult life transitions.
I believe that clients are experts of their own lives. Through a trustful and collaborative therapeutic relationship with me, my clients can begin the process of gaining control over their thoughts and inner dialogues, in order to create new narratives that will grant them the lives they wish to curate.
As an immigrant, I am particularly interested in working with individuals and families in marginalized communities, hoping to help those struggling with cultural and religious conflicts, racial and generational trauma, as well as identity crises that may arise from migration and assimilation. But primarily, I am always eager to work with anyone who appreciates a warm and non-judgmental environment and wants to learn more about themselves.
Having grown up in Bangladesh and then attending college and graduate school in the US, I use my knowledge of both cultures as a therapist to integrate the unique blend of traditional Western education with holistic Eastern influences in my practice. In my counseling sessions with individuals and couples, I draw from Family Systems and Narrative Theory, alongside incorporating mindfulness techniques, primarily through a strength-based approach.
To me, therapy is a portal that allows us access to parts of us that are seldom paid attention to, and helps us become fuller versions of ourselves by granting us more knowledge and understanding. I would be honored to accompany you on this pivotal and life-altering journey.
