About me

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist and treat individual adults, couples, and families in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Your decision to evaluate therapists today is a strong sign change is underway. I work to help individual adults and teens, couples, and families navigate relationship difficulties, behavioral issues, and unresolved emotional needs. My office is a place where clients can speak openly about their hopes, needs, and fears - with warmth, care, and authentic feedback in return. Our work can treat symptoms of grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction. Emotionally focused repair, cognitive insight, and concrete skills development can each play a role. My training emphasizes clients' experience in family, work, and other systems.
I utilize psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and mindfulness interventions. I take a solution-focused and strength-based view toward clients' concerns. I am Prepare-Enrich certified and offer premarital, marital, and discernment counseling. My work with families includes issues with co-parenting, estrangement, caregiving, and failure to launch.

My work with clients ranges in length of therapy. In brief cases, our emphasis may be reachable solutions, skills development, and clients' existing strengths and resources. In those requiring a longer process, clients can address and resolve longstanding inner needs and conflicts, through insight-oriented, relational, and emotionally focused perspectives.

I am a DC native. I received my master's degree in Couple and Family Therapy from The University of Maryland, earned degrees in Philosophy and Religious Studies from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN, and graduated from The Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC. I am a clinical supervisor at The University of Maryland's CFT graduate program and an AAMFT Clinical Fellow.

Therapy can be a rewarding experience for many, including the undeniable challenge of taking the first step. Feel free to visit my website and contact me for a phone consultation. I am out-of-network with all insurances, but my clients are successful in receiving reimbursements from their providers. Appointments are available afternoons and evenings.
