About me
I offer counseling services to teenagers, adults, and couples, through a bio-psychosocial approach which focuses on the whole person, including their environment and background.
I utilize a therapeutic approach rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and seek to provide an environment focused on listening and empathy. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and incorporate Christian themes upon request.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Counseling and Criminal Justice from Grace College and am fulfilling my internship hours to complete my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grace College. Due to my status as an intern, I am able to offer very affordable rates. Though I do not take insurance, my fee would be the cost of your typical co-pay.
I have previously provided counseling services at Oakland Hills Counseling and Insight Counseling Services. My experience also includes over two years of providing support to mentally disabled adults in a group home setting. Through my time providing counseling services, I have had the opportunity to help clients navigate through grief, relational distress, anxiety, and depression. My experience at the group home allowed me many opportunities to develop the care and empathy that are at the forefront of my interactions with clients during counseling sessions.
My empathetic and calm approach with clients allows them to discover their strengths and empowers them to improve their physical and mental health. I promote strong client-counselor rapport through a non-judgmental and supportive approach. I believe that every client possesses the ability to make the necessary changes to achieve their goals and desires.
