Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
I am Mental Health Counselor who works on a plethora of mental health issues, believing in alliance building between the client and therapist.
Hello, I am Anderson J. Schuyler, a mental health counselor with Ducky Behavioral Solutions, INC., and licensed through the state of Florida. I have a doctorate in counseling psychology, a master degree in mental counseling and a bachelor degree in psychology. I have been working in the field of mental and behavioral health for over 10 years. My experience in the behavioral science world started by working with children and adults with Autism and other special needs, doing Applied Behavioral Analysis while providing support to the families of those individuals. While earning my doctorate, I worked in a community non-profit providing mental health counseling to individuals of all ages and therapeutic needs. In that time, I also worked alongside the Department of Children and Families providing family counseling, parenting skills and reunification services and provided individual counseling and behavioral management. Over the past year and a half, I provided services in an inpatient unit for the Department of Corrections, providing services to patients who struggled with severe long term mental health issues, including Schizophrenia, Bi-Polar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, PTSD, Autism as well as those with persistent self-harm and suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
I also enjoy providing psychoeducational groups and have worked with both court ordered and self-enrolled clients in Anger Management, Seeking Safety, SPARCS and Depression and Anxiety groups, and have worked to refine curriculums for each. Currently I am working on using tabletop RPG’s in groups to help with mental health.
My approach to therapy through alliance building, and as a team, we will explore your thoughts and feelings that are creating the roadblocks in your life. We will work on ways to help you achieve both your short and long-term mental health goals. I believe that while I may have the degrees and trainings, you are still the expert on you, and I am there to help you regain yourself. As you start to be able to take control of the immediate issues causing havoc, we will then explore the root causes of the negative thinking to help resolve those issues. Doing this can be a great avenue to helping you gain control of your thoughts, behaviors and overall quality of life. The same method applies in my work with families and couples. I work with everybody as a team, helping everyone to realize that while the family is a whole, everyone is an individual and has a different need, and how to help meet the needs of all to make the family cohesive again.
