About me
I am an experienced therapist who provides services to children, adolescents, adults and older adults by assisting with a wide range of needs. Those needs include: play therapy, parenting support, working through emotional and behavioral problems, unhealed wounds of abandonment, abuse, betrayal, grief, loss and neglect, as well as things that keep you from having the relationships, resources and overall life experiences that you want.
My therapeutic approach involves building on your strengths as you explore new directions/choices and develop relational, coping and self-care skills. My goal is to help you rediscover your strengths by providing support and guidance tailored to each person's needs using a combination of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and solution focused techniques. I believe you have the capacity for the change you seek because the desire for growth, personal meaning and competence are driven by the human spirit. Living contrary to that can cause despair. We are inherently social beings, so developing competencies in areas of struggle enhances our mental health, success at work and the abilities to achieve life tasks. I treat everyone in a compassionate and respectful way that is mindful of individual differences, cultural norms and ethnic diversity, respecting the dignity and worth of everyone I serve. I listen without judgment to difficult emotions and challenge or affirm your thought process so you can break old negative cycles, develop new coping skills, reduce symptoms and have greater self-worth and hope.
