I am an experienced licensed clinical social worker who is passionate about helping parents navigate the challenges that come with parenthood. I have received specialized training for postpartum mental health issues, and have experience working with those impacted by infertility, trauma, and loss.

Hello! My name is Amber Johnson, and I am a licensed therapist in Illinois. I am the founder and owner of ADJ Counseling and Wellness, a virtual therapy practice. I have years of experience helping families and individuals cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. I am also a wife and mother of two wonderful “pandemic babies”.

In life, we have very few spaces where we can show up as ourselves. That is why it is important to me that my clients are allowed to be their authentic selves in session. Therapy is about creating a healing environment where you can tackle some of your biggest hurdles without judgment or pressure.

As a therapist I believe that my role in the relationship is to assist you on your journey to wellness through providing authentic, compassionate care and genuine empathy. Trained in CBT, DBT, Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), EFT and Humanistic Therapy, I utilize an eclectic client-centered approach which allows you to take the lead in every part of the treatment process. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you.
