About me
Hi there! My name is Alyssa and I'm a clinical social worker who specializes in working with individuals who've experienced anxiety, depression, and/or trauma in their lives.
While I have worked with many populations, most of my expertise comes from working with BIPOC and immigrant communities. Being a child of immigrants myself, most of my clients and I work on grappling their bicultural identity, intergenerational trauma, the pressures of familial piety and obligations, as well as coping with the fervent racism that their communities are suffering through. I use methods of psychoanalysis, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and mindfulness to help formulate customized treatment for each of my clients. I'm a collaborative clinician: I will provide a safe space for you to share your goals and acknowledge your struggles while also challenge a lot of your behaviors and thoughts in order to heal. My goal is to empower my clients to gain a better sense of themselves by learning more about each of my client's upbringing and their background to inform their current behaviors and thoughts. If you'd like to learn more about therapy and how we can best meet your needs, feel free to contact me for a free consultation!
