About me
I am a therapist dedicated to helping adults with a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, and body image.
Can you relate? "I feel so overwhelmed. I can't sleep, I feel so on edge. It's like the whole world is collapsing in on me." "I'm so tired all the time. I don't want to do anything and getting out of bed to face a new day feels impossible." "There's never enough time in the day. I can't be everything to everyone all the time!" If any of this sounds familiar, you are not alone. Through therapy at Driftwood, you can challenge negative thoughts, learn skills to cope, and reclaim yourself.
My goal is to create a warm and comforting space to facilitate personal growth, deeper understanding of yourself, and radical change to help you live life to the fullest. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Washington (#LW61136321). I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Pepperdine University (2013) and then attended The University of Texas at Austin for my Master of Science in Social Work (2015). I called Texas home for some time and worked in various mental health facilities. I moved to Seattle a short time later and worked in trauma and crisis settings before finding my home as a therapist. My approach to therapy is holistic, intentional, and designed just for you. I incorporate Mindful Self-Compassion, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy into my practice. I believe that only YOU can be the expert in YOU. Therapy is partnership and I would be honored to be a part of it.
My own personal and professional experiences have led me to become a therapist. Building a safe and inclusive therapy space means finding my blind spots, unlearning and challenging my oppressor parts, and committing to embodiment of social justice in all aspects of life. As a woman, I know the challenges women face in this modern world. It is easy to feel like you are never enough, and that you can't live up to the expectations society has set for you. My weekends are spent outside, most often on a trail or at a campsite enjoying the scenery. This practice grounds me and reminds me that I live on stolen lands from the Coast Salish, Duwamish, and Stillaguamish. Food is a passion of mine and I love to taste and savor all of the foods that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. My people and puppers (Tater Tot and Dewey) help make my world go round. It is my honor to share in the struggles and successes of the human experience with you.
