About me
I am Alan Archibald, LCSW and I have been helping children, youth, parents and families make meaningful changes for over 20 years. At See 1 Change, therapy is a supportive, personalized approach to making change happen.
I specialize in working with clients on complex problems.
Some of the most common reasons that we seek therapy can be complicated – depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges (parenting, family and other important relationships). We each have resources from our natural abilities and our life experience to help overcome these challenges. Therapy helps us access those resources.
Often our more complex problems have a lot in common with depression, anxiety and relational stress, but the additional complexity means that we usually need specialized guidance to find our strength and confidence. These are conditions like non-typical brain processing (e.g., ADHD), unique ways of thinking (e.g., Asperger’s/ Autism Spectrum) and surviving chronic trauma (e.g., Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or Dissociative Disorders).
These challenges require understanding the condition, learning to believe in ourselves, developing self-soothing skills, and retraining our brain structures that have learned to constantly operate in survival mode. It’s not just thinking differently, it’s experiencing differently.
Send me a note or give me a call to find out more. I would like to help you experience thriving for yourself!
